Hubby's Mean Green Pea Soup

We like it chunky. So we used a hand masher (potato masher) and just gave it a rough mash up. Delicious with some gluten free bread like the seeded loaf and some hummus on it. Or you can blend it smooth.

  • 2 Onions
  • 1 Bag of Frozen Peas
  • 2 Carrots
  • 1 Vegetable stock cube

How To Make

  1. Saute the Onion in a little vegetable broth until slightly browning.
  2. Add the frozen peas and saute for 5 mins.
  3. Then add a vegetable stock cube and water just to cover the peas.
  4. Bring to a simmer and boil for 15 mins.
  5. After 15 mins get potato masher and mush the peas abit.
  6. Keep simmering for another 20 mins and mashing.
  7. Add the chopped up carrots 5 mins before the end to give some colour. Season with pepper and savory spice blend and if you like a bit of heat add some chilli flakes.
  8. Make sure you taste whilst cooking to get seasoning right as the veg can take a bit more seasoning.


Add lentils or legumes of your choice like puey lentils, if you want some extra protein.
